Ademski, Michael

Michael F. Ademski, aged 69, passed away suddenly in Wilmington, DE on July 24th, 2023. He was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Stephen and Ruth (Loman) Ademski.

Mike was a proud graduate of Claymont High School (class of’71), attended Baltimore Community College (where he played football), worked for Conrail for 12 years before continuing his education, and ultimately worked for 32 years for Citibank (retiring in 2022).

Mike was a man of many talents and passions … playing football and ice hockey as a young man, later as a coach and supporter of the Concord High School Raiders & West Virginia University Mountaineers, as well as all Philadelphia sports teams. He was a talented musician who loved to play his guitar, and was always up for a jam session. In addition, he was a master perogie maker and loved making sure that everyone was well fed.

His greatest joy of course was Family, especially time spent with his four beautiful grandchildren. He will be missed but remembered as a hard-working, humble, fun loving, devoted family man.

Mike is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanne (O’Connor) Ademski; his children, Ryan (Grace), and Chelsea Lakey (JB); his grandchildren, Maggie and Andrew Ademski, Lucy and Luke Lakey; his brother Stephen (Cynde); as well as members of his extended family.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, on Tuesday, August 1 from 10am to 12pm. A funeral service will commence at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Sunday Breakfast Mission of Wilmington, DE.
