Haack, David James

David James Haack, 73 died on Saturday July 22, 2023 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

David was born in Clinton, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University and University of Idaho where he received his bachelors and masters of chemical engineering respectively. He spent most of his career in Wilmington DE with DuPont where he worked on numerous projects in chemical engineering and IT, including obtaining two patents before the age of 30. He was an integral part in the Y2K transition. He was also a member of the AIChE.

Dave never met a stranger, and always had a joke. He enjoyed reading, travel and the Philadelphia Phillies.

He is survived by his long-term partner Carol Taylor; son Steve (Hannah) of Wilmington; daughter Hilary (Geoff) of Berlin, MD; his granddaughters Emily, Molly, Ivy and Lily; his mother Mildred of Clinton, IA; and his brother Tom of Harrisburg, PA. He is preceded in death by wife Robin Seidenstat Haack and father John Haack.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 29 at 1909 Julian Rd, Wilmington, DE at 4pm. This event will be outdoors.
