Ralph L. Robbins, Jr., born June 3, 1944, in Wilmington Delaware, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 15, 2023, after a short yet strong battle with cancer.
He served in the United States Navy from 1965-1971 as an ordinance specialist. After the Navy, he had a lengthy career at Sears before he opened his own business. Ralph retired around the age of 58. He was a member of Otter Creek campground. He loved fishing, nature and the friends that surrounded him there. It was truly his paradise.
He loved to travel with family and friends. Wherever he went, he created a Ralph or Uncle Ralph fan club. He had an aura that drew people into his kindness.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Sr. and Maude, and his brother Bill. He is survived by his daughter Tammy and grandchild Angel. He never stopped loving his ex-wives Eileen and Jeni. His nephews Bill (Suzy) and Lew (Liz) and their children were near and dear to his heart. He is truly survived by all the friends that he has embraced and that have embraced him over the last 79 years. His memory will live forever.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt.202 South of Silverside Road), Wilmington, DE 19803 where a service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. The family invites you to gather at Atterbury VFW Post at 649 Churchmans Rd. Newark, DE 19702 after the interment.
