Allen Lee Ruff, age 71, of Wilmington, DE passed away at his home with his loved ones by his side on April 28, 2023.
He was born and raised in Wilmington and was the son of the late Joanne and Swanson “Bill” Ruff. Allen graduated from H. Fletcher Brown Technical High School in 1969. He also attended Delaware Technical & Community College where he studied electrical engineering.
Allen worked for W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc, for over 43 years. He retired in 2015 as an electrician. In his earlier years, Allen and his wife Sue enjoyed the Delaware Beaches and traveling to the Caribbean.He also enjoyed reading and smoking cigars.
Allen is survived by his wife of 50 years A. Sue Ruff; a daughter, Jessica Ruff and a sister, Dianne Harman.
A Celebration of Life for Allen will be held on Friday, May 5 at 11:30 am at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington where friends may call after 10 am. Burial will be held privately.
