Ellen J. LaRouche, beloved wife, mother, mommom, and friend, passed away on April 26, 2023, at the age of 75. Ellen was born in Wilmington, Delaware, to late Edward and Margaret Fromm. She grew up in a close-knit family with her two sisters, Mildred (Tootsie) Piascinski and Jacqueline Taylor. Ellen graduated from Dickinson High School in 1966.
Ellen met the love of her life, Henry LaRouche, at work in Wilmington, and they were married for 49 wonderful years. Together, they raised their son, Steven A. Marando Jr., who married Judi and gave them two grandsons, Justin and Ryan Marando, whom Ellen adored and cherished.
Ellen was a creative and talented person who enjoyed making crafts, going to the beach, doing crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite soap operas. She was a loyal friend who enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, and her infectious laughter and kind heart will be deeply missed.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Henry LaRouche; her son and daughter-in-law, Steven A. and Judi Marando; her grandsons, Justin and Ryan Marando; her sister, Mildred (Tootsie) Piascinski, and three nephews Rick, Rob & Randy Piascinski. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Taylor.
Ellen’s family would like to thank the staff at Christiana Hospital Hospice Care Unit for their compassionate care during her final days.
A funeral service will be held in Ellen’s honor on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 11 am at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington DE. 19808 where friends may call after 10 am. Burial will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
