Nancy Ross, 92, of Wilmington, DE (formerly of Elysburg, PA) passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Christiana Hospital, in Newark, DE.
Born November 3, 1930, in Trevorton. She is the daughter of the late Lewis and Elva (Brown) Appel. She lived in Wilmington for the past 5 years, but most of her life was spent in Snydertown and Elysburg, PA. Nancy was a long-time member of Miller’s Crossroads United Methodist Church.
Nancy was married on March 28, 1953, in St. John’s UMC, Shamokin, PA to Donald Howard Ross, who precedes her in death.
She was a graduate of Trevorton High School. Throughout her life, Nancy worked many manufacturing jobs, helped her husband run their restaurant and worked at Knoebels Amusement Resort.
Nancy was known and loved by many. She had a zest for life and could always be found smiling and telling old stories. She enjoyed spending most of her time with family and will be deeply missed.
Surviving is one son, Gregory (Crystal)Ross, of Sunbury; one daughter, Andrea Lenker (Dale), of Wilmington.; six grandchildren, Nicholas (Amy) Ross, Dylan Ross, Benton Ross, Cheyenne Ross, Kelly Lenker (Kenney Seltzer), and Kerri Lenker (Anthony Saldutti). She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Ross and her sister, Carol Cox.
A time of visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, April 29 @ 11:30am at Miller’s Crossroads United Methodist Church, Stonington, where the funeral will be conducted at 12:00pm with the Rev. Barbara Welsh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to Miller’s Crossroads UMC, P.O. Box 372, Sunbury, PA 17801.
