Hoesterey, Robert W. “Rob”, Jr.

Robert W. “Rob” Hoesterey, Jr. age 60, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday April 1, 2023. He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was the son of the late Betty (Biesinger) and Robert W. Hoesterey, Sr. Rob graduated from Brandywine High School in 1981 and received an associate degree from Delaware Tech Community College.

He worked at various chemical manufacturing companies throughout his career including Agilent, the Dupont Experimental Station, MIDI Inc. and Apeel Sciences. Rob frequently traveled for his work, visiting many countries and enjoyed experiencing the many different cultures and cuisines of the world.

Rob enjoyed the history of the Civil War and was a member of the Delaware Blues. He was also an avid supporter of Jeepers Back the Blue and loved driving his Jeep Wrangler with the American flag flying. Rob enjoyed shooting, fishing, working on cars and was a diehard Eagles and Penn State fan. He was very involved in his kids’ sports, coaching many of their teams throughout the years. When he was not coaching you could always hear him cheering from the stands. His eyes lit up whenever he talked about his granddaughter, Amelia. There was nothing he loved more than playing on the floor with her and hearing her laugh.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 25 years, Donna (Dugan) Hoesterey. Rob is survived by his three children, Robbie Hoesterey (Nora), Caitlin Hoesterey and Cody Hoesterey; a granddaughter, Amelia and a brother, Stan Gottschalk (Rebecca).

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Jeepers Back the Blue Foundation; www.jeepersbacktheblue.org
