Branscome, Sara C.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Sara Branscome on March 26, 2023 at the age of 93.

Sara was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. She graduated from Saint Pauls Catholic School and then became a secretary/bookkeeper. She and her sisters liked to go dancing and that’s how she met her husband Roby, who passed away in 2011.

They married and raised five children. They liked to garden and can the fruits of their labor and shared them among family and friends. She loved roses and collected dolls and bells.

Sara also enjoyed reading, puzzles, puzzle books and watching her favorite shows.

She was very active and took care of her household throughout her years and she was lovingly called the energizer bunny because she just kept going.

Sara is predeceased by her husband Roby, parents Elmer and Anna Atkinson, her siblings, Mary Campbell, Dorothy Trotto, Audrey Rees, and Elmer, Joseph, Richard, and Albert Atkinson.

She is survived by her five children: daughter/caretaker, Joyce Ford, Ann Blevins, Ellen Plummer (Ron), Sharon Urban (Duane), and Stephen Branscome; five grandchildren: Donna Granda, Christopher (Darlene)and Daniel (Samantha) Blevins, Stephen Urban, and Whitney Pantella; three step-grandchildren; Jeffrey and Steven (Amanda) Plummer, and Barbie (Steve) Price; seven great grandchildren: Aubry and Mekayla Feehly, Cole Granda, Amber, Kyle, Laura and Donald Blevins; five step great grandchildren: Luke, Lydia and Wickes Plummer, and Jessica and Rachel Price, and one great, great granddaughter, Charlotte Kemske.

Services will be on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 with visitation from 11:00 -12:00 at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington 19808, followed by a graveside service and interment at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
