Alton Charles Graham “Sonny,” age 86, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023. Alton was born in Hazelton, PA, son of the late Alton Watson and Johanna R. Graham.
After graduating from Wilmington High School, he served his country honorably in the United States Marines. Upon his discharge of military service, he was employed by Electric Hose and Rubber and retired from the Delaware Art Museum.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, a member of the Christiana Lodge #35, AF & AM, but especially cherished spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Alton was predeceased by his siblings, Nancy Lawrence, Lucille Brown and Charles Graham, and brothers-in-law John Kyritsis, Joseph Kyritsis, Nicholas Kyritsis and Thomas Leounes. Alton is survived by his wife of 55 years, Catherine Kyritsis Graham of Wilmington, DE; daughters Christine Graham of Wilmington DE and Mary Beth Vore, son-in-law Roy Vore and granddaughter Melanie Vore of Suwanee, GA; sisters-in-law Helen Leounes, Evelyn Kyritsis, and Mary Jane Graham and brothers-in-law Robert Brown and George Kyritsis and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 31, 2023 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike Wilmington, DE 19805.
