Jeffrey W. Watt, age 62, of Hockessin, DE passed away peacefully on March 19, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Jeff was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle & friend. In addition to his wife of 22 years, MaryEllen, Jeff is survived by his sons, Matthew & Joshua. Also surviving Jeff are his brothers, Andrew and wife Connie, James and wife Melanie and their families, mother, Audrey Fenimore Watt and many extended family members. Predeceasing Jeff is his father, Warren Watt, brothers, Warren Watt, Jr., Earle Watt & Rodney E. Watt.
Jeff graduated from McKean High School in 1979 and then Wilmington College with a B.S. in Business Administration. Jeff first worked at General Motors as a temp worker during the summers of 1984 and 1985. He was hired permanently as a full time GM employee in June of 1985. He worked in several areas of the plant , including Quality Engineering until the plant closes in August of 2009. He then worked for the Boeing Company as a Quality Engineer from August 2010 until his retirement in December of 2021.
Jeff was an active member of his church, The Church of the Holy City in the City of Wilmington. He was President of the Board of Trustees for 40 years and volunteered at the Emmanuel Dining Room since 1986. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. Services will be held on Saturday, April 1st at 11:00a.m at the Church of the Holy City, 1118 North Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19806 with interment following in Silverbrook Cemetery.
