Heredia, Alicia

Alicia Heredia, age 81, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Brackenville Senior Center.

Alicia was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and was the daughter of the late Inez (Pichardo) and Agustin Chavez. She retired from the El Paso Independent School District.

Alicia is survived by her son, Larry Heredia, and his wife Luz Delia; daughter, Delia Ramirez; three grandchildren, Hannah Heredia, Oswaldo Ramirez, and Crystal Bone; two great-granddaughters, Aubrey Bone and Sophia Ramirez and two siblings, Andy Chavez (Terry) and Emma Postell.

First and foremost, Alicia was a devout Catholic especially devoted to the Virgin Mother Mary. A visit to any church had to include a few moments for her to spend quality time in prayer to the Virgin Mary.

She loved socializing with family, friends, and new acquaintances. She was well known at the Mid-County Senior Center for her Bingo strategies, virtual bowling, dancing, and meeting and helping newcomers feel welcomed.

Her family and friends knew her as the lady who was ready to dance to the Latin beat. She was well known for listening to Jose-Jose Latin stations while doing work around the house. She enjoyed what she was doing. She was always ready to set time aside for her friends. Alicia was strong, capable, independent, and very dear to her friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made to the Mid-County Senior Center, 1st Regiment Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808 or www.midcountyseniorcenter.org/donate/

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
