It is with great sadness we announce that Margaret “Peggy” Eileen Shanahan, nee Griffith, passed away on March 11, 2023. She was 70. Peggy was born in Port Huron, Michigan, on February 19, 1953 and lived most of her life in Newark, Delaware. She graduated from Christiana High School (Newark, DE) and the University of Delaware. Peggy worked most of her career at DuPont, retiring in April 2020.
Peggy’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her daughter: Amanda, grandchildren: Tristan and Emily, and granddog, Puffin. Peggy enjoyed making greeting cards to brighten people’s days. She loved learning new techniques and getting new stamps and dies to create them. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting and cross stitching.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband: Paul, and her father and mother: Donald and Helen Griffith. She is survived by her daughter: Amanda Ha (Ken), grandson: Tristan, granddaughter: Emily, granddog: Puffin, her sisters: Susan and Mary Lou Griffith, and her dog, Daisy.
The funeral service will be held Friday, March 24th, at 11:00 am with viewing starting at 10:00 am at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware. Interment at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, Delaware.
