“On Friday March 3rd, Louise “Lou” Kirkpatrick, loving Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Mother-n-law, passed away at the age of 74, born January 18, 1949.
Louise was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Hasselmann of Connecticut and sister, Rosalie ”Rodie” O’Keefe of California. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Brad) Presley of Wilmington and 2 grandchildren, Lillian and Brianna, her brothers Mark (Marie) Hasselmann of Maine and Matthew (Ellen) Hasselmann of Connecticut and her sister Lillian Merriman of Arizona, along with her late husband Chuck, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
Louise enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid animal lover, pet parent to dogs in her younger years to 7 cats later. She spent countless hours researching genealogy while working then happily retired in 2015. Early in her retirement, she spent time with friends traveling Europe. Before and after retiring, she spent time at the Delaware Saengerbund. As a German club member, she always looked forward to all the dance festivals the club was a part of, including the Oktoberfest, Stiftungfest and Kinderfest. She was waiting for the upcoming Gaufest this summer. She had a passion for photography, taking endless photos of her family and friends. She touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed by all.”
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. To send condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com
