Steven Warren, a long-time resident of Delaware, and more recently of Willow Street, PA, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 25, 2023. He was the youngest child of his late parents, Charles Leslie Warren (1931-2005) and Verna P. Fie Warren (1938-1996). Steven started out his working days as a cook for the Cantina Restaurant in Wilmington, DE. He was employed there for 11 years until they closed in 1996. He switched career paths and worked for multiple armored car companies as a driver and as an ATM Technician. He was passionate about his work and was exceptionally skilled at servicing and fixing ATMs.
He loved watching the Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers, as well as going to games with his two sons, Chris and Luke. He loved spending time with his family, playing board games and video games, watching TV, and going on family vacations, especially to Disney World. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, like shooting hoops, playing football, wiffle ball, badminton, and Frisbee. He loved driving to new places and was very adept at reading maps. He loved to organize everything, from his taxes, to his Lego collection, to his sports memorabilia.
Steven is predeceased by his older brothers, Edward L. Warren (1956-1994), and Charles Warren (1959-2022). He is survived by his partner of 8 and ½ years, Laura Skonberg, of Willow Street, PA, and her two daughters, Adrianna and Angelina; his two sisters, Cathy Maria Warren of Tampa, FL, and Marion Fox of Wilmington, DE (Frank); and his two sons, Christopher Warren of Hockessin, DE (Sara), son of Tori Cordova of Wilmington, DE (Justin), and Luke Warren of Norristown, PA, son of Dawn Macdonald (Sean).
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. A gathering will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am, with the service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Steven’s honor to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.afsp.org.
