Smith, Pamela

With heaviness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our loving, compassionate, beautiful, brave and unimaginably strong wife, mother, sister and greatest friend Pamela Julia Smith. She passed peacefully on February 26th at age 64 in the early morning after a long battle with cancer.

Pamela was born in December of 1958 to Gilbert and Marion Homan. While in high school at Concord High she met the love of her life, Robert Smith.

She spent her life changing the lives of every person she came in contact with. While working as a food service manager for the Brandywine School District for over 15 years she became a beacon for those around her both coworkers and students alike.

Pamela was not like most other mothers when it came to raising her daughters as she and Robert took them all over the country on motorcycles showing them the magic of the world and its people. After her daughters were grown and she was able to retire she and Bob continued traveling in their motorhome as nothing could stop them. As a member of Del-Vets Inc. she made many lifelong friends.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Bob; two daughters, Julia and TaylorLee; her brother, Jeff and her sister-in-law, Barb.

Services for Pamela will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 3rd at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19808). Friends may call beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial at Chester Bethel Cemetery will immediately follow services.

If anyone is so inclined, we ask any gifts be donations to Del-Vets or St. Jude’s.
