William Henry “Bill” Lentz III, age 79 of Wilmington, DE and formerly of Lansdowne, PA passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on Friday, February 24, 2023.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA, raised in Lansdowne and is the son of the late Helen (Fowler) and William Henry Lentz, Jr. Bill graduated from Drexel University in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force of eight years.
Bill started is career at the DuPont Company in 1969 until 1990 where he was Systems Analyst. He then worked for SAP Consultants for approximately three years. Bill also did some private consulting. He finished his working career with the State of Delaware, Department of Labor for five years, retiring in 2000 as an auditor.
Bill was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was an avid Eagles and especially Phillies fan.
Most important to Bill was his family and he cherished his time with his 4 grandchildren
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances (Jones) Lentz; two sons, Eric Lentz and his wife Shana and Mikael Lentz and his wife Leigh and 4 grandchildren, Dallas, Hunter, Mikael and Noah.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, beginning at 10 am at Bethany Presbyterian Church 316 Kennett Pike, Kennett Square, PA where a funeral service will follow at 11 am, Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
