Delsie Ethel Phillips (nee Gooden), age 98, of Wilmington, DE, died February 18, 2023 at the Kutz Senior Living Campus.
Ethel was a graduate of H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School. She worked as a beautician for over 50 years. Above all else, Ethel loved spending time with her family, especially attending sporting events her children and grandchildren were competing in and vacationing with them at the Delaware Beaches or Disney World.
Ethel was predeceased by her daughter Sandra Harrington (Gary), son William Daniel Phillips and grandson Joseph Anthony Phillips (Angela).
She is survived by her sons Charles Bruce Phillips (Lynn), Paul Harvey Phillips (Leslie) and Michael Robin Phillips (Mary); 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 28 from 10:30-11 at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE with a service at 11. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Ethel’s name to Boys Town, PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010 (boystown.org) or Grace Episcopal Church, 4900 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803.
