Davolos, John

John J. Davolos, age 62, of Wilmington DE, died on February 16, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

John graduated from Delcastle Technical High School where he learned many trades including his main love of carpentry. After high school John tried a few different jobs before realizing his true passion was building and renovating homes. John and his brother Frank went on to own and operate Davolos Development for over 30 years. John had many other interests throughout his lifetime. He was an amazing carpenter, built and restored several classic cars, and had a knack to fix anything that was thrown his way. Besides being a master of his trade John was also a great brother, uncle and friend to all who met him. John would light up a room and always was able to provide laughter and love to all he met. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting John witnessed a heart filled with love and loyalty. If you needed anything, John was there first to lend a helping hand. To say John Davolos was one of kind is an understatement.

John was predeceased by his father Frank J. Davolos and his mother Rose (Dolly) Davolos. He will forever be missed by his siblings Toni Ann Degnan, Lisa Davolos, Frank Davolos (Anne), his daughter Emelia, his partner Laura Smith and all of his many nieces, and nephews who admired and loved John dearly.

A visitation will be offered Friday, February 24 at 10 am at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington DE 19803 with eulogy at 10:50 am. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in John’s name to St. Mary Magdalen School, 9 Sharpley Rd, Wilm, DE 19803.
