Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret “Peggy” Daniels, passed away peacefully at home Saturday February 11th, 2023 surrounded by family just weeks before her ninety fourth birthday.
Our mom was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 22nd, 1929 to Mary and Dominick Durkin. After attending nursing school at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, she met and married our father, Paul Daniels (deceased). Their marriage on May 24th, 1952 produced a large, close knit family that grew quickly to include Patrick (deceased), Colleen Russell (Jim), Tim (Patricia), Kevin (Leonor), Bridget, Sheila DePalmer (Steve) and Terry (Leslie). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bethann Russell, Laura Striker (Matt), Mathew (David), Paul (Kristin), Jessica Sanchez (Rodrigo), Theresa Cannon, Katelyn DePalmer (Hiromu), Devin DePalmer and Sarah DePalmer. She was pre-deceased by grandchildren Patrick, Emily Cannon and Mary Cannon.
Also surviving her are her great-grandchildren, Daniel Cannon, Isabella and Ryan Stricker, Annelise, Adelynn and Ava Daniels, and Santi and Nora Sanchez.
Our family moved into the old rectory of Christ Our King Church in 1960 and except for a short time in New Mexico from 1978 to 1981, our mom has remained in our family home. She was adamant she would live out her life there. Well mom, you somehow made it happen.
We will all miss your Irish wit, your generosity of spirit and unflinching devotion to your entire extended family. We will be forever grateful to you for all you have given us.
May the road to heaven rise up to meet you. May the wind in heaven be always at your back. May the sunshine in heaven be warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon you and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
A private Mass of Christian Burial has already been held.A Memorial Ceremony and Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
