Donald Edwards Pickup was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2023 at age 84.
He was born to Arthur and Marion Pickup on March 29, 1938 in Buffalo,New York. After graduating high school, he pursued and achieved his engineering degree from the University of Buffalo. Donald became a Maintenance Engineer at General Chemical , where he worked until retirement. In his spare time, he was an amazing woodworker who loved to help family, neighbors, and friends with any project they had. He volunteered at the Outreach of Delaware prison ministry for 40 years. He was very active and involved with his church. As well as constantly doing for others, he was also a giver, with his final gift of donating his body to science.
Donald is survived by his wife, Nan; He was a proud father to his two sons; Keith Pickup and wife Pam, and their children, Tanya & Robert Hofford, Zachary, Samantha & Michael Glass, and their children, Braydan, Corbin, and Grace; son Robert Pickup and wife Joanne, and their children, Robert married to Justine, Shawn married to Keirsten, and their children, Hannah, Wyatt, Brayden, and Kaylanah; stepson Ken Rainey and wife Dana, their sons Steven Rainey and Blake Rainey; stepdaughter Diane Twesten and husband Edward, and their children, Kyle Twesten and Leah Twesten. Don is also survived by his brother Robert “Bob” Pickup and his sister Jane Gavin.
