Louis A. Fiorella, age 95, died Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Wilmington Hospital with his family by his side.
A kind and giving man, Louis will be remembered by his family as a gentle soul who was mostly quiet but when he spoke it was “purposeful.” Though humble, he was proud of having served his country in the Army Air Corps. In his spare time Louis loved to tinker and do projects, and never (ever) threw anything out. A native Philadelphian, he enjoyed watching the Eagles, especially this season.
Louis was predeceased by his childhood sweetheart Edith in 1988 and son-in-law Dennis Rafferty. He is survived by his children, Camille Rafferty, Denise Zizas (Michael), and Carlo Fiorella (Margie); his beloved grandchildren Carlo, Jr. (Nitika), Matthew Louis, Michelle (John), and John; great-grandchild Jack Louis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 31 from 9-10:30 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Louis’s name to the Tunnels to Tower Foundation.
