Gwen E. Bogia, 66, died peacefully at home on Friday January 20, 2023.
Gwen was born in 1956 and is the daughter of the late Otto W and Berdine Janice Geiger. Gwen lived in Wilmington, DE and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. She later moved to Newark, DE. Gwen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and daycare provider. Gwen cared for many children during the 25 years of her in home daycare. Gwen loved spending time with her family, celebrating holidays, crafting and going to craft fairs.
She is survived by her children, Jeanette Meredith (Larry), Tammy Kosar (Tony), Diane Glynn (Mitch), Kevin Bogia (Jean); grandchildren, Daniel Bogia, Alexandra Gilardi, Madison Meredith, Bryce Meredith and Aiden Meredith; brother, David Geiger; brother-in-law, Paul Stecher; sister-in-law, Anne Bogia; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Diane Stecher.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 30th at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (501 Duncan Rd., Wilmington, DE 19809). Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment in Chester Bethel Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to American Diabetes Association or National Kidney Foundation.
