Monagle, Susan Eileen (Clapsaddle) “Susie”

Susan Eileen (Clapsaddle) Monagle “Susie” of Wilmington, DE, at the young age of 56, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

She was born in Wilmington and was the daughter of the late Mary (O’Boyle) and Mike Clapsaddle. Susie lived in New Castle, DE until the age of 12 where she then moved to Oklahoma. At the age of 26 she came back East to family & relatives in Maryland. Susie then met the love of her life at the age of 30, Joseph Monagle and was blissfully married for 26 years. Family, gardening and sowing seeds of love were her life’s passions, her purpose.

Susie attended Oklahoma City Community College in Norman, OK and fell into different Law Firms. When she moved back East, she found her dream job as a Legal Word Processor for the law firm of Young, Conaway, Stargatt & Taylor. She loved her job and the lawyers loved her. She was great at what she did.

Susie was diagnosed with Cancer in 2016 and fought bravely and courageously, never once complaining. We had 6 good years and we thank the Christiana Team.

Her favorite hobby was gardening. She loved planting, moving, replanting and sharing her gardens. All who visited the house commented on her 4 beautiful gardens. In particular, her “Mama’s Garden”, dedicated to her beloved Mother “G Mary”.

Susie is survived by her loving husband, Joe; 2 sons, Joey (Alexa) and Cullen; siblings, Mary Lou Coleman, Michael Clapsaddle (Rhonda), Cathie Smith (George) and Peggy Mullican (Joal) and many many Aunts, Uncles, Nephews and Nieces.
