Katherine Anne Levendis peacefully passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 77.
Kathy, of Levittown, Pennsylvania and of Wilmington, Delaware, was born on August 26, 1945. She earned a master’s degree in Music from West Chester University and worked as the Musical Director for Chichester High School (Boothwyn, PA) and then as the Musical Director for Immaculate Heart of Mary (Wilmington, DE). She also worked on three original musical productions and gave private piano lessons from home.
Kathy was a lover of the arts, always singing, playing musical instruments, enjoying classical and modern music, drawing, and painting. She was a master of vocabulary and enjoyed learning about other cultures, history and languages. She really enjoyed good television, and truly adored animals, especially mini schnauzers.
Kathy was predeceased by her beloved mother and father, Helen and Steven Labyak. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Marilyn (Robert); her children, Gregory (Kama), Darryl (Alexis), and Stefanie; her grandchildren, Mick, Grace, Sophia, and Ashley; her nephews, Justin (Marielle), and Evan; and her longtime companion, Ralph.
The family will host a memorial for Kathy and would like to invite friends, starting at 2:00 p.m. on January 22, 2023, at St. David’s Episcopal Church (2320 Grubb Road, Wilmington, DE 19810). In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. David’s Episcopal Church.
