Baker, Margaret "Peg"

Margaret P. Baker age 96 of Heritage Park, died on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Accent Hospice, in the Wilmington Hospital.

Peg was born August 9, 1926 in Wilmington. She graduated from P.S. DuPont High School, class of 1944. She was employed by Garret Miller Electrical Contractors Co. from 1944-1948, then the DuPont Company until retiring in 1982. She married her husband Harry T. Baker in 1967. They spent their next 18 summers at their summer home in Surrey Maine. They helped her sister Joan with her antique business by doing shows, buying at auctions, and also from private homes. Peg was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was a charter member of Brandywine Valley Baptist Church.

Peg was predeceased by her parents, John F. and Margaret S. Plummer, her husband, Harry T. Baker, her sister, Joan P. DeLong and her husband Frederick DeLong. She is survived by her stepson, H. Jeffrey Baker and his wife JoAnn, her grandchildren, James L. Baker and his wife Joanne and L. Kristin Kempczynski and her husband Steve, three great-grandchildren, Thomas Jeffrey Baker, Jaime Regina Baker and Vincent Anthony Kempczynski.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Cadia Pike Creek, the wonderful caring staff at Wilmington Sunrise Senior Living and the kind and compassionate care given at Accent Hospice at the Wilmington Hospital by the doctors, nurses and aides.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 11,2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Brandywine Valley Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE 19803 where friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware S.P.C.A.
