Jackson, Julia F. "Julie"

Julie left us on Monday, November 14, at age 79. Born in Yonkers, NY she was predeceased by parents, Sam and Jean Tritto, and brothers, Joseph and Sammie Jr. After leaving Yonkers, Julie headed to California. She had non-speaking roles in two movies and a TV commercial for men’s toupees. For a brief time, Julie was a Bunny in the Playboy Club in Los Angeles. She subsequently moved to the suburbs of Washington, DC where she met her future husband.

She was a bundle of energy. After moving into her home in Wilmington, Julie proceeded to make it her own. No telling how many times she painted or wallpapered every room in her house. It was always a work in progress. Bring on the white gloves but you wouldn’t find a speck of dust anywhere. Julie was thrilled recently when a plumber told her it was cleanest house he had ever seen. When she wasn’t taking care of her house, Julie looked forward to lunches with “the girls”. Most of “the girls” were friends for 40 years.

Before health issues slowed her down, Julie was an avid bowler, often bowling two or three times per week. She also loved playing slot machines. She wouldn’t pass up an invitation to Delaware Park or Atlantic City, but the entertainment in Las Vegas made it her favorite trip.

Julie is survived by her children, Ken Pickford (Ann Marie) and Robin Teder (Jeremy); much adored grandson, Mason; and husband of 43 years, Ed.

A visitation will be held at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803) on Tuesday, 11/22/22 from 3 to 5 PM. Many thanks to the folks at Delaware Hospice for their caring assistance. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Julie’s name to the Delaware Humane Association (delawarehumane.org).
