William J. “Bill” Heckman, age 74, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Northfield, NJ passed away at his home on November 11, 2022.
He was born in Atlantic City, NJ and was raised in Egg Harbor City, NJ. Bill was the son of the late Paul E. Heckman and Theresa M. (Howell) Kruger. Bill graduated from Oakcrest High School, Mays Landing, NJ in 1966.
He was an entrepreneur in insurance, real estate and construction.
Bill was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 6 months, Linda K. Houck; 2 children, Angela Heckman (Larry Metz) and William Heckman (Rena Kha); 2 step-daughters, Ann Kathleen Houck (Russell Barnes) and Donna Houck Wensell; 3 grandchildren, Allen, Alice and Amelia Wensell; a sister, Lorraine Schmidt (Terry) and niece and nephews. Bill is also preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Paul and Louis Heckman.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
