On Friday September 30, 2022, James Sanderson, loving husband, and father, passed away suddenly at the age 52. James Sanderson was born on July 14,1970, in Milford, Delaware. He attended Delmar High School in Delmar, Maryland and studied history at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Simmers; son, Ryan Simmers; sister, Shannon Phillips; brother, Matt Sanderson; aunt, Constance I. Powell; uncle, James L. Parsons; as well as a cousin, nephew, and nieces. James was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Sanderson Phillips, and his brother, Layton Todd Sanderson.
In 2002, he married Suzanne and in 2004 they welcomed their son Ryan into the world. James enjoyed watching and discussing sports, especially NASCAR. Some of his favorite pastimes were reading, walking his dog, and listening to many different genres of music. James was active in his son’s Cub Scouts troop and many sport activities.
He will be remembered for enjoying simple pleasures in life with family and friends. A family trip to the park, listening to music around the fire pit, and watching sci-fi fantasy shows and movies. James had a witty sense of humor and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. He loved and was loved and will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held on October 8, 2022 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home located at 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. There will be a visitation from 11:00 am -12:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delaware SPCA in his name.
