Marian O. Conforte, age 84, of Claymont, DE, departed this life on September 30, 2022. Born in Linwood, Pennsylvania on November 14, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Bessie Jones and was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Conforte; and sister, Carolyn Hickey.
In her youth, she was employed as a stewardess for American Airlines, based out of New York City. The travel bug never left her and throughout her life she enjoyed learning about history and cultures from around the globe, traveling to Italy, Turkey, France, Morocco, Wales, Spain, England and many more destinations.
Marian is survived by her companion of over 30 years, John Fox; her daughter, Susan Conforte McNeill; and her three grandchildren, Rose McNeill, Matthew McNeill, and Christine McNeill. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes (3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware 19803). The service will begin at 12:00 noon with a private burial to follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pennsylvania.
