Cletus Daniel Bonner, 88, formerly of Beaver, PA, passed away on September 23, 2022 in Wilmington, DE. Born September 1, 1934 he was a son of the late Cletus D. Bonner Sr. and Lucy June Breckenridge Bonner Cascio. Clete was a graduate of Beaver High School and received his Bachelor of Science from Geneva College. He was the President of Strayer Coin Bag Company in New Brighton for many years, where he obtained several patents for special locks and other banking security systems. For most of Clete’s life, he was a parishioner at Trinity Episcopal Church in Beaver where he taught Sunday School and served on the church vestry as senior warden for several terms. Clete proudly served his country in the U.S Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Chet Bonner and Samuel Cascio Jr., a sister, June Cascio, and his stepfather, Samuel J. Cascio Sr.
Clete will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 66 years Shirley Strayer Bonner and his daughters Rebecca Bonner (Tim Stopper) and Deborah MacGray (Douglas); grandchildren Rachel Shepherd (Lindsey Bailet), Clare Shepherd, Eleanor Shepherd, Logan MacGray (Danielle), Molly Basciani (Guido), and Riley MacGray; five great-grandchildren Lena, Ori, Judah, Lydia, and Silas; his brother-in-law Roger Headland (Barbara) and his step-mother Lois Smeltzer Cascio.
Clete was blessed with a large and loving extended family as well, including Rick Jones, Heidi (McCloskey) Schuster, Kim (McCloskey) Eshelman, Scott Shepherd, and Liz Suhanec.
