Reusch, Faye M.

Faye Marie (Lane) Reusch, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Millcroft Nursing Home surrounded by her husband, William “Bill” T. Reusch, her daughter, Deborah M. Reusch and her favorite niece, Susan Roberts.

She was born on September 21, 1933 in Delaware and, upon graduating from Newark High School, she and her inseparable sister Peg began working at the DuPont Company in the steno pool. But Faye always said her life began when she met and later married Bill, the love of her life. This past March 13th they celebrated their 70th anniversary.

Faye loved being a homemaker to the delight of her family who were particularly thrilled when she baked pinwheels. She loved creating beautiful flower beds which the neighbors enjoyed as well. She happily kept Hallmark in business for years by sending greeting cards to family and friends on holidays, special dates and the occasional “thinking of you” notes. Visiting tea shops and enjoying afternoon tea were always delightful occasions for Faye. She and her daughter spent many wonderful hours together over the years with their tea cups continually filled and their conversation never ceasing.

Faye was known for her soft-spoken voice and quiet steady faith. As she and Bill were raising their family, they were active members of Salem United Methodist Church where Faye enjoyed singing in the choir and studying the Bible. She took great joy in sharing her love of the Bible by teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School to kindergarten classes for many years. In later years, she and Bill enjoyed making new friends at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

Faye was predeceased by her son, William T. Reusch, III (“Bud”) and daughter-in-law, Susan A. Reusch, as well as her parents, William R. Lane and Hazel M. Lane, and her five siblings, William R. Lane, Jr., Stanley C. Lane, C. Renda Hoffecker, Margaret (“Peg”) L. Roberts, and Arthur L. (“Larry”) Lane.

In addition to her husband, daughter and niece, Faye is survived by her granddaughters, Heather Reusch (Tony) and Kimberly Matyger (Allan), great grandchildren, Olivia Martinez (Jose), William Reusch, Jackson Matyger and Mollie Matyger, great-great grandchildren, Andrew Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Milo Martinez and Mila Martinez, as well as her cousin, Carl Davis (Susan) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Millcroft Nursing Home for the compassion and care they provided Faye while she was a resident.

Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808, with visitation from 10-11 am. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
