Helen B. (Snoo) Davis, age 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August, 6, 2022.
She was born to the late Kathleen & R.J. Byrkit, Jr. in Wilmington, DE.
Snoo is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles R. Davis, special needs daughter Carolyn, daughter Margaret (Peggy) Del Fabbro & husband Adrian, grandsons Zachary Del Fabbro, his fiancé Taylor and her son Isaac, & Jeremy Del Fabbro and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister Mildred (Flixie) Brons.
Snoo spent her formative years in Hattiesburg, MS and returned to Wilmington in 1955.
She received B.S. In Library Science from Mississippi Southern College and A.S. from Goldey-Beacom College. Snoo was the consummate mother raising their special needs daughter and Peggy and helping with (2) grandsons.
She was a long time, “life” member of Talleyville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary where she was secretary for many years.
Snoo joined her husband Charles in managing the family business, M. Davis & Sons, Inc. She was the first office staff person after the incorporation of the Co. and eventually handled payroll, manually for over 100 Team Members. She was instrumental in starting the Apprenticeship Program and a strong motherly advocate over the years.
She supported Charles’ business involvement throughout their life and careers. They enjoyed many wonderful years at their second home in Ocean Pines, MD close to Carolyn at Stockley Center. She loved fishing and the beach with family there and at Boca Grande, FL.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at Deerfield Country Club, 507 Thompson Station Road, Newark, DE 19711, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
