Garrett Lee Norman, Sr., the 8th of ten children, was born November 20,1958 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio to Elijah, Sr and Gladys Norman. He departed this life on August 5, 2022 in Newark, Delaware where he resided with his family.
Garrett attended Cleveland public schools and was a proud Marine veteran. Garrett spent the majority of his adult life enjoying his passion as an over the road tractor trailer driver and trainer.
He was preceded in death by his mother (Gladys) and father (Elijah, Sr.), his sister Elizabeth, and brother Maurice. Garrett is survived by Crystal, his wife of 37 years; one son, Garrett, Jr; two daughters, Avita Knott and Alexxandria Goodwin; brothers Myron, Alonzo (Charlotte), Darrell (Chrystal), Elijah, Jr. (Vivian); sister Desiree, Fronzetta, Denise (Glenn); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a multitude of nieces and nephews and a loving mother-in- law, Doris Brewer.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 292 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711, where a service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
