Carol Susan (Lindsey) Davidson, age 75, of Wilmington, DE passed away at her home on July 28, 2022. She was a witty, brilliant, loving, dedicated mother. In her later years, Carol suffered from mental illness.
Born in Sistersville, WV and raised in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Betty Ruth (Doak) and John Brues Lindsey. Carol graduated from Brandywine High School in 1965, where she was very active in the Science Seminar, Azurean yearbook co-editor, and National Honors Society Secretary. In 1969, she graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in Biology.
She was a Scientific Researcher and worked with the EPA on environmental regulations for the Dupont Company. Carol also worked at Integra Life Sciences, and later at Medtronic, on FDA approvals for medical interventions. A lifelong lover of learning, she also was an Adjunct Professor at Temple University. Carol was a member of YMCA Moms of Twins and the Concord Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed singing, playing piano, knitting, and reading.
Carol is survived by 3 children, Rodger Davidson (Lauren) of Wilmington, DE, John Davidson (Megan) of Crownsville, MD and Cheryl Hickman (Timothy) of Irmo, SC; 8 grandchildren; a brother, William Lindsey of Fredrick, MD; sister, Ruth Lindsey of Hawi, HI; sister-in-law, Charlene Lindsey of Holland, PA. She is also preceded in death by her brother, John Jay Lindsey.
A celebration of life will be held privately.
