Charlene J. Cannon, age 63, of Middletown, DE went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2022 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was a devoted wife to Phil and mother to his children that she loved as her own.
She was born and raised in New Castle, DE and the daughter of Julie (Tull) Johnson and the late Jack J. Johnson, Sr. Charlene graduated from Delcastle Vo-Tech in 1977.
She first worked for Delmarva Power as a keypunch operator. Charlene then worked for Forshey & Greenley Family Dentistry, New Castle, DE as a receptionist for 20 years. She retired in 2020.
Charlene enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, along with shopping with her daughter.
Survived by her husband, Phil Cannon; children, Michael and Sarah Cannon; two brothers, Jack Johnson, Jr. (Ann) and Jeffrey Johnson (Jenny); niece Jessica Johnson; nephews, Matt (Amanda), Josh and Jeremy Johnson and great niece Sadie.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9 from 11 am-12 noon at Townsend Church, 4519 Dupont Pkwy, Townsend, DE 19734, where a funeral will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be at Old Drawyers Cemetery (new section-north bound side.)
