Marie K. Spinden, 84, of Bellefonte, passed away on July 10, 2022, at home.
She was the wife of the late William Spinden Jr, whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late: Mary and Thomas Hoffman. Marie graduated from St. Elizabeth’s High School, and retired from Brook’s Armored Car after 19 years of service. She was a member of St. Helena’s Church. Marie was the most loving, caring, thoughtful, and devoted mother and grandmother, and an avid Phillies fan.
Marie is survived by her daughters: Mary Lynn Trikaliotis (Kostas) Jennifer Brooks (Ed) and grandchildren: Nicole, Jessica, Meghan, Lena, Maria, Dimitri, Josh, Alex, Ryan, Melissa, Erin, Adrianna and Jillian; great grandchildren: Hannah, Jalyn, Joseph, Juliana, Jade, Noah, Julian, Savanna, Lilyana, Ava, Natalie, Konstantinos, Kristopher, Rowan, Brooklynn; great-great-grandchild: Idris; sister: Gerri Episcopo, daughters-in-law, Laura Spinden and Sue Spinden and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William Spinden Jr.; children: William E. Spinden III, Susan Sentman, Kelly Lam, Jayne Davenport, and Andrew Spinden; grandchild; Tyler Lam; and brothers; Jim, Thomas, and Michael Hoffman.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Helena’s Catholic Church at 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at 1:00 pm at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware, 19701.
