Wendell B. McGaha, age 83, of Townsend, DE, passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2022. He was born in Newport, TN and was the son of the late Lara and Lawson McGaha. Wendell proudly served his country in the US Navy.
He worked for General Motors, Boxwood Road, for 32 years, retiring in 1994 as a paint mixer. Wendell later drove the Blood Bank bus in Dover.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1578, New Castle. Wendell enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and ship cruises with his wife and friends but most of all, he cherished his time with his family.
Wendell’s wife, Jacqueline died in 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Ash (John Franklin); 4 grandchildren, Angel, R.J., Rebecca and Cara, and 6 great grandchildren, Michael, Ava, Christopher, Juliun, Taylor and Raelan. He is also preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Jennifer McGaha; a grandson Ryan and 9 siblings.
A viewing will be on Thursday, July 14 from 10:30-11:30 am at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington where a funeral will follow at 11:30 am. Burial will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery
