Susan C. Hensel, passed away on July 3, 2022, 9 days short of her 86th birthday. She was a 1955 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and attended Wesley Junior College from Sept 1955 to June 1957.
Susan worked for the Internal Revenue Service from 1964 to 1972. She worked for the VA Hospital in Elsmere from 1974 to 1985, then she left her job at the VA to take care of her widowed mother, Martha G. Hensel, who died in 1991.
Susan was a member of the Shellburne Bible Church, where she was an organist.
Susan is survived by a brother, John Hensel of Nevada and California; a sister, Cindy Andrew of Washington State; two nieces, Christine Lawrence and Alissa Andrew; one grandniece, Hayley Lawrence, and one grandnephew, Miles Lawrence.
A funeral service will be on Monday, July 11, at 11am at Shellburne Bible Church, 4 Newark Union Public Rd. Wilmington, DE 19803. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Newark Union Cemetery.
