Virginia Mae Squire, age 85, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at Christiana Accent Care, June 23, 2022.
Jinny was born in Ringtown, PA and raised her family, along with her husband of 60 years, Robert (Bob), in Wilmington, DE. She was the administrative assistant for the Scarborough Agency for 10 years before working as the office manager and administrative assistant for the United Methodist District Office for 23 years before she retired. She attended Ringtown High, graduating in 1954. She then attended Cannons Business School, graduating in 1957. Jinny loved bowling and was in many bowling leagues over the years. She was a member of the exercise club at her church and was very involved in the United Methodist Women. She served as Financial Secretary at Hillcrest-Bellefonte United Methodist Church. Jinny loved spending time with friends and especially her family.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert D. Squire III; her two children, Kimberly Williams (Timothy), Jamie Squire (Laurin). She was loved and cherished by her four grandchildren, Kacey, Clayton, Lyndsie and JR; great-grandchild, Molly. She also has grandchildren by her children’s marriages: Emily, Dan, Jake, Josh, Matt and his son Logan. She will always be in all our hearts.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning, June 30, 2022, from 10:30am to 11:30am with a memorial service immediately following at 11:30am at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Hillcrest-Bellefonte UM Church, 400 Hillcrest Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19809.
