Meffen, Vivianne

Vivianne G. Meffen (Mango) of Media, Pennsylvania, formerly of Wilmington, Delaware and Clifton, New Jersey, passed away June 3, 2022.

Born on July 31, 1931, daughter of Michael and Veronica (Harned) Mango, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Kenneth W. Meffen. Loving mother of Jack Meffen and wife Fran of NH, Michael Meffen and wife Andrea of NJ, Dianne Baker and husband John of PA and Heather Tepper and her husband Gregory of NC. She was always so proud of her grandchildren Christopher (Cheryl), Allastair (Meg), Theresa (Irving), Margaret (Kris), Timothy (Catherine), Elizabeth (Adotey), Lindsey (Michael), Chelsea, Molly (Chuck), Kimberlee (Michael), Adrienn and Noah. Vivianne was predeceased by her brother Carmine Mango and sister Veronica Mango Bowen and brother-in-law Curt Bowen. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, much loved sister-in-law Audrey Mango and many loving nieces and nephews.

Vivianne was a proud graduate of Westside High School in Newark NJ, Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing and Jersey City State College. She found time to sing and compete with the “Sweet Adelines” barbershop style chorus and was active with the Soroptimist Club in NJ. After working as a registered nurse for many years and raising a family, Vivianne entered the business world. Initially, she was the first Patient Representative in NJ at Hackensack Hospital, moving on next as a pharmaceutical sales rep and finally, worked as an administrator in the anesthesiology department of St Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love of God and family, her culinary and wooden spoon skills and as a passionate sports fan!

A celebration of Vivianne’s life will be held at St. David’s Episcopal Church (2320 Grubb Road, Wilmington Delaware 19810) on Saturday, July 30 at 11:00 A.M.
