Amanda Lewis, 29, passed away suddenly after suffering a severe asthma attack and her inhalers were ineffective to help her breathe and then her heart stopped. By the time the EMT’s arrived, her brain had gone to long without oxygen resulting in brain death on May 17, 2022 at Christiana Hospital.
Amanda was enrolled in the “Gift of Life” program for organ donors and in her passing her liver was rushed to NY to save the life of a father of 3 dying from liver disease. Due to her generosity more lives will be given a second chance to succeed.
Amanda was born to her parents Nathaniel and Patricia Lewis on June 25, 1992. She is survived by her parents, her son Ayinde 7, and her 6 siblings Nate, Melissa, Michael, Christopher, Samantha and Taylor.
The family would like to thank Christiana Hospital for their efforts to do all they could to sustain Amanda’s life.
A funeral will be held on Friday June 3, 2022 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE. A vewing will be at noon and a small service at 1pm.
