Christina A. Martin, age 78, of Greensboro, MD, formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2022 at Easton Memorial Hospital.
She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of the late Alice (McCrea) and Louis Kessler. Christina graduated from Central Bucks High School in 1962.
She worked for the Dupont company as a keypunch operator on the overlarge main frames. Christina then transferred as a member of the “Technical Awareness Team”, helping the scientists keep up with the changes in their fields. She then continued with her greatest accomplishment, a wife and mother. In rearing her children, she homeschooled her sons.
Christina enjoyed drawing and painting, inspired mostly doing horses and Native American Women.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frank E. Martin; their 3 sons, Steven Martin and his wife Erica of Walkerville, MD; her twins, Matthew Martin currently of Louisville, KY and Kevin Martin of Walkersville, MD; her 2 brothers, Mark Kessler and his wife Shelby of Avondale, PA and Albert Kessler and his wife, Dianna of Sonora, AZ; her sister, Hazel Wilson of Wilmington, DE, who passed away the day after Christina; sister-in-law Elaine Kessler of Bridgeville, DE (widow of her brother Louis); as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will be having a joint Celebration of Life for Christina and her sister Hazel on Saturday, May 28 at 10 am, McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE, where friends may call after 9 am. Christina’s burial will be held privately.
