Margery Wilson, age 88 of Wilmington, DE went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family by her side. A great women, outstanding wife, loving mother and grandmother and a good friend to everyone she met. Margery is in heaven reunited with John her husband of 64 years who passed in 2016. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Margery was born to the late Floyd and Edith Short in Greenville, DE. She is survived by her loving son, John, Jr. who lived with her and was her primary caretaker. Margery is also survived by her loving daughter Rebecca Morole (David), who also was her primary caretaker; 3 grandchildren, David, Jr. (Megan) and their son Collin, John (Bonnie) and Ashley; a brother, John Short and a large number of nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her 8 sisters and 3 brothers.
Margery worked for Diamond State Telephone Company from 1952-1959 when she left the company to start and raise a family. She was an avid gardener and together with her husband John, had a beautiful garden in the back yard. Margery loved gospel music, along with country music and watched Bill & Gloria Gaither every Saturday night and listening to her favorite singer, George Jones.
She greatly appreciated the nurses from Christiana Care Home Health Services, Jennifer and Jen who treated her with loving care.
A viewing will be held on Monday May 16, beginning at 10 am at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, where a funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park. For online condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com
