Kathleen F. Brown, 70, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Kathy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 28, 1952, and was the daughter of George and Virginia Baglin Futcher.
Kathy was a graduate of Concord High School, class of 1970, and Delaware Technical Community College. Her professional career began at AstraZeneca, where she worked in Human Resources for over 40 years—most recently as a Benefits Analyst. Kathy was highly regarded by her peers for her expertise and work ethic. Many of her coworkers became lifelong friends.
Kathy’s greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed family reunions, trips to Disney World, and Key West. She generously shared her home with everyone and hosted many events in her own private oasis—the backyard pool.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her beloved son, Justin A. Brown. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Alan W. Brown; sons, Joshua and Zachary; sisters, Linda (Derryl) Mills, Ginny (Michael) Farrell; and brother, George M. Futcher. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 10th, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike Wilmington, DE 19803,) from 10-12, followed immediately by a service at noon. Interment will be at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.
