Sandra K. Wolford, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022.
She was born and raised in Chillicothe, Ohio. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Clyde Duffy. Sandy started her family in Lancaster, Ohio, living in New Jersey for a period of time before moving to Wilmington, DE where she was very involved in her educational community and was an extraordinary teacher in the Colonial School District for 31 years. Sandra taught in the classroom for many years, then traveled extensively teaching nationwide, teaching science instruction and assessments to students and teachers.
She was an active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, Westover Hills. Sandra enjoyed gardening, being the finder of beautiful antiques, going on adventures with her social circle and spending time with her loved ones and friends.
Sandra is survived by brother, Terry Duffy (Anne); her daughter, Shelly Townsend; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa and Stuart; 2 great-grandchildren, Helena and Liam and her life-long friends, Eleanor McLaren and Rachel Wood. She is also preceded in death by her son, R. Gregory Wolford and her daughter, Wendy Duffy.
A Remembrance of Stories will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, 143 Dickinson Ln, Wilmington, DE 19807 from 10:15 am to 10:45 am followed by a Celebration of Life service that will start at 11am. Burial will be held privately.
