Hamm, Audrey Smith

Audrey Smith Hamm, passed away on April 27, 2022. Audrey fought hard against cancer and so wanted to win the battle but it was too advanced when diagnosed.

She was born September 25, 1952 in Baltimore, MD to Malcolm L and Leona P. Smith. Audrey graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Willingboro, NJ. She worked at various companies throughout her life, many times holding more than one job. From 1985 until 2020, she worked at Appliance Service Center in Wilmington. The company was originally owned by her father Malcom L. Smith. She purchased the company from him in 1995 and was owner/operator until it closed in January of 2020.

She enjoyed her last position and co-workers at Good Uncle in Newark. She also worked part-time at Milburn Orchards where she made many friends. Audrey had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone regardless of her own situation. She had a quick wit and enjoyed dancing and loved to laugh.

A favorite hobby was going fishing with her father, either on his boat or out of Bowers Beach on the Captain’s Lady.

She was predeceased by her father Malcom L. Smith. Audrey is survived by her mother Leona P. Smith; her great nephew that she raised as her own son from infancy, Tielor J. Rash; Audrey is also survived by three sisters, Marilyn Corsi (Phillip), Kathy Young (Henry) and Sharon Smith; nephew Jeremy Rash (Cortney) and their children, (Johnny, Madisyn, Mollie and Phoebe); niece Jessica Henry (Jade) and their children, (Trevor, Nolan and Derek) and great niece Destiney Kreller (Mike) and their children (Aria and Gianna).
