Linn, Nancy D.

Nancy D. Linn (nee McClintock), 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 31, 2022. Nancy, one of three children, was born in Upland, PA, to Florence V. McClintock and the late Edward McClintock.

Nancy graduated Eddystone High School and spent her career working at Scott Paper Company and The Franklin Mint. Nancy was also a career mom to her four children, where she served as a chef, cleaner, taxi driver, cheerleader, nurse, and countless other professions under the title of ‘Mom’. Affectionally known as “Mama Linn” to the neighborhood children, Nancy touched countless lives in more ways than she ever realized.

Nancy enjoyed crocheting beautiful blankets and sweater sets, taking great pride in providing each of her grandchildren with a token of her love to wrap themselves in. She also enjoyed her daily conversations with her mother, Florence; visiting with her sister, Judy; taking road trips across the country with her sister-in-law Mary; chatting and spending time with her best friend and close confidant Fran Ferguson; going to the beach; looking for birds and neighborhood cats outside her window; growing roses; and watching the Game Show Network and Investigation Discovery. Nancy loved her dogs, Lakota and Nanook, but her true dog love was for her Corgis; Willie, Maggie, and Summer.

More than anything, Nancy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She took great joy and pride in watching them grow. She loved getting the family together for backyard barbecues and hosting large holiday celebrations. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved celebrating the holiday with extended family and friends, even organizing visits from Santa to spread the holiday cheer.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Florence McClintock; her sister, Judy Reeder; her children, Jennifer Peterson (Scott), Tiffany Linn (Kim), Kari Barnes, and Donald Linn, Jr. (Christine); and her grandchildren Alicia, Katelyn, Hannah, Olivia, Amanda, Brianna, Keira, Jameson, Keigan, Rylinn, Eden, and Jonas; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She loved and cherished her family deeply and we will honor her in our memories. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved father, Edward L. “Reds” McClintock; her brother, Edward L. “Eddie” McClintock; her nephew Scott Reeder; and her aunt and uncle, Tommy and Dorothy Murray, all of whom were waiting to welcome her home as she gained her wings.

Nancy wanted to express her heartfelt gratitude to her family and friends that visited her, cared for her, and prayed for her this past year. She would also like to thank Dr. Knox and the Penn Hospice team, especially nurse Paige, for their genuine compassion and excellent care.

Services will be on April 23, 2022 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803). The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 am and the Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
