Kover “Kove” Hudson, III, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2022 at Christiana Hospital.
He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and is the son of the late Edna Mae (Hall) and Kover M. Hudson, Jr. Kove attended Dickinson and McKean High Schools and graduated in the first class of McKean High School in 1967. He attended the University of Baltimore graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Kove started his working career at E.I DuPont Test Center in Newark, DE, then until his retirement in 2011, he worked for the Wilmington Trust Company in the Information Technology Department for 25 years.
He was an Elder at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church and served on several committees, along with attending mission trips to Appalachia, West Virginia. Kove coached baseball for the Babe Ruth League, he was an assistant coach in the Stanton-Newport Little League and also coached and played on the Red Clay Creek Church Softball team. He helped with the Cub Scouts at St. Marks United Methodist Church and was an Eagle Scout himself.
Kove is survived by his wife of 29 years, Bonnie (Grieve) Hudson; step-son, Jeffrey Work (Kristin) of Bear, DE; 2 granddaughters, Kinsley and Teagan Work; sister, Linda Shields (Vance); nieces, Elizabeth McKnight (Aaron), Sara Vance Selander (Craig); nephew, Preston Shields (Rachel) and 1 great niece & 6 great nephews all from Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ruth Grieve; sister-in-law, Polly McCarthy; brother-in-law, Scott Grieve, all of Wilmington, DE; nephews, Stuart Grieve of Ma, Sean Grieve (Nora); niece, Sheryl Satterfield (Todd); 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew, all of New Jersey.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 8, at 11 am at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, 500 McKennans Church Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where a visitation will begin at 10 am Burial will be held privately in the adjoining church cemetery.
