Ernestine J. Jones, age 90, died Monday, February 21, 2022 at Shipley Manor.
Ernestine was born in Bethlehem, PA, the only child to the late Ernest J. and Genevieve Kunz. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1949 and Bethlehem Business College. Ernestine was primarily a homemaker, going back to work after her three boys were older, retiring from PNC after 15 years. She was a long-time member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Wilmington and loved to travel, especially trips to Myrtle Beach.
Ernestine was predeceased by her husband, Jay K. Jones in 2011. She is survived by her sons Jay D. Jones (Debbie), Robert E. Jones (Kimberly), and Douglas R. Jones; and grandchildren Julie, Scott, Jay, Abigail, Rachel, Kylie, Maddi, and Ryan.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 15 from 10:30 – 11:30 at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 with a funeral service at 11:30. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
