Lois S. Jenkins, age 92, of Wilmington, Delaware, died on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Seasons Hospice in Wilmington.
Lois was a proud member of the P.S. DuPont High School class of 1947.She faithfully attended her class reunions for over 70 years.
Soon after graduating from high school, Lois began working for the DuPont Company, ending her career in the late 1970’s as computer key-punch operator.
Lois was a long-time member of the St. Mary Magdalen bowling league and continued bowling with her friends for many years after the league ended. Lois and her deceased husband, Albert B. Jenkins, Jr., were active supporters of the Brandywine High School Band Boosters from 1972 through 1975.
Lois loved to walk around her Blue Rock Manor neighborhood and as she walked with her pockets full of dog treats, she became fast friends with many generations of dogs and their owners. She also loved to shop, especially at Talbots and at the Concord Mall where she was well known by many of the mall retailers.
Lois and Al were married for 58 years before his death in 2008. She is survived by her daughter Ann Jenkins Salmon (Carl Rausch) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and her grandchildren, Katie Salmon (Daniel Hyde) of Cambridge, England, and David Salmon of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
A memorial service for Lois will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church, 3003 Silverside Rd., Wilmington, Delaware, at 2pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Masks and social distancing are mandatory. The service will be live-streamed and can be accessed on the church’s website at concordiade.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mandi Lane’s Starlite Service. This amazing team of women provides personal care for people who can no longer care for themselves.
